Communities for Early Learning

All services for children and families are local; they are near home and directly supports children and families.  In communities across the state there are many organizations who support young children and families. We want to work with them, often through “early learning coalitions” or partnerships.

Across the state, local communities are collaborating to impact early learning.  These partnerships plan and implement systems which support young children and families. The goal is to help assure children are healthy and ready for school.  Early Learning Health Connections helps make sure doctors, other health providers, and health organizations are part of these local collaborations. We do this by integrating Reach Out and Read programs into communities.  We also strive to connect medical practices with the broader partnerships. We want to make it easier for families to access the information and services they need; and easier for health partners to promote early childhood development.

Resources to Facilitate Community Connections

We provide technical assistance and share information to facilitate the connection between local medical practices, Reach Out and Read Programs, and community early learning efforts. If you are a community wanting to connect with health partners, please contact us.
